Made my aftermarket wheels OEM

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to share how I made my new 17-inch, matte black Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels look like OEM MINI wheels.

I am extremely happy with the actual wheels, but I just was not impressed with the center caps that came with them.

So, I purchased some new OEM MINI wheel emblems from Bavarian Autosport, http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp, part number 36 13 6 758 687, at a mere $1.95 each, and placed them onto the snap-in center covers of each wheel. These new wheel emblems really made finished these wheels off nicely.

I love the new look, personally, (of course, I am biased).

The emblems were a little larger than what I needed, so I had to make them smaller. If you want to see how I did it, click here: http://web.mac.com/jonnieoh/iWeb/My%...lem%20Mod.html

This looks awesome. I was thinking about doing this idea also but I noticed it was too large for the TDR caps so I wasn't too sure what to do. Now I realize what's needed but I don't have the tools. Would you want to do another set? Maybe get some of the others on the forum who have TDRs to to do the same thing so you could save on the shipping?

see post #5 that's my car and I worked with Ryan at GrafxWerks on this setup and sent him pics

dragonflyer/Aesthetic Creations also does domed caps I think (more OEM looking than the 2D vinyl overlays, not that you can tell from more than three feet away). price is similar

Are the prices from Aesthetic Creations for the domed caps also around $55? That's how much it costs at GrafxWeks if i include the liquidome.

cheaper from Mike if you use a stock design, about the same if you do a custom set. GrafxWerks does everything custom and doesn't cater to MINI (and isn't a vendor here, so might as well support the 'local' guy if you can).

My local graphics guy can make a set out of flat vinyl for just a couple bucks a piece. Just stick them on and if they starte to look bad after a while just peal it off and stick a new one on.
