MOTD License Plates now available!

Yes, the long-awaited MOTD Commemorative License Plates are now available. Crafted specially for this fantastic MINI event, the commemorative plates are a fantastic reminder of the event before, during and after this year's MOTD. Please note:
  • The plates are the same size and shape as your standard issue license plate. They are drilled to fit the screw holes on your current plate and frame.
  • These plates are made of durable .019" gauge plastic in 4-color graphics specially designed for the MINIs (red, blue, green, black on white background)
  • Designed to be displayed on your FRONT bumper, with your legal issue on back still
  • You can order NOW or anytime later, while supplies last. When they are gone, they are gone.
  • Cost is $6.00 per plate, plus $1.50 shipping and handling per item.
  • The DRAGON CARAVAN price is $6.00 per plate, with FREE SHIPPING, for an order of 5 or more mailed to a single address.
  • Shipping: Via USPS as your orders arrive. Get it on the car, wear it NOW!
  • At this time, payment is by personal check only payable to me as follows: Jonathan Souza, 7867 S Jersey Way, Englewood, CO 80112
  • Special Offer for all purchases! Along with your Dragon Plate (when it comes in the mail) you will now receive a 10% DISCOUNT COUPON good toward the purchase of the excellent GoMINIGo " No Holes" LPB License Plate Bracket!! Yes, you will receive a coupon with a code good towards your online or mail order purchase. See the "No Holes" LPB pictures online at www.GoMINIGo.com site. Also, be sure to note that the LPB now has up to 6 different mounting positions, low on the front of the car but not bolted to the bumper! ( See Post #13 in this thread for full details)
In the next few days, there will be a 2nd order option at American MINI Mates ( www.americanminimates.com ) where you will be able to order a combo pack ( Dragon Plate and Dragon Placard) at the same time, or the Dragon Plate solo.

When you mail your order in, be sure to include the following information so the Plates can be easily mailed to you:
  • Your Name, Address, City, State and Zip
  • Your phone, for questions (totally optional)
  • Your NAM handle
  • Your check, payable to me, for $7.50 per plate
Thanks, see you at the Dragon!!

That looks good to me....

I neglected to mention that the Dragon plates posted below are:
  • Commemorative. Not legal for anything at all.
  • Meant to be worn OVER or IN PLACE OF your legally required tag on the FRONT BUMPER
  • Removable, and re-usable next year
  • Easy to post in your office cube as a conversation starter. Bugs and all.
Try one of ours. You will be the first in your area. Then, just wear it for the event - to and from - and you will have the best of both.

Thanks for the pic....

I want Yucca's plate. I think I'll get one of those at MOTD this year.
Hmmm. Looks like torx screws?

But if I can't make that happen, I'll order one of jsouz's.

The Dragon Placards will be similar to last years, with the colors reversed (last year was white printing on a red background, this year they will be red printing on a white background, with a red border) and of course updated to 2007. We will have them up on our web site with pictures by the end of the week. We are excited to be able to also offer The Dragon License Plate. There will be special pricing for combo packs of both items, or we can supply them separately. We will post when our web site has be updated.

A Special Offer

ONLY for purchases of the Dragon Tag (Dragon License Plate) this year: Thru an exclusive and innovative marketing arrangement with Dave and the kind folks at GoMINIGo ( www.GoMINIGo.com ) we will now offer a DISCOUNT to anyone who purchases the Dragon Plate. Here you are:
  • Each purchases of the Dragon plate will receive a discount coupon valid towards the purchase of the GoMINIGo "No Holes" license plate bracket. This is the one that mounts low in your Tow Hook hole.
  • The coupon is good for 10% off your purchase
  • The coupon will be delivered to you with your license plate
  • You will have a CODE on your coupon which will allow you to make your purchase ONLINE at the www.GoMINIGo.com site
Now you can DISPLAY your unique Dragon Tag without putting it on the bumper. The "No Holes" LPB License Plate Bracket does not require you to drill into your front bumper. The LPB is made entirely from stainless steel, with nylock nuts that will not loosen with vibrations. And, the LPB allows you to adjust the mounting height from low to high in 6 separate positions. See the photos in the www.GoMINIGo.com site.

There you have it. Two good offers in one. Send your order in now, and give yourself time to order your LPB long before the Dragon.

See you all soon!

Jonathan

If you are coming in a group or caravan

to the Dragon, have the others post here. I can get the group a discount on the plates, and save you postage.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Glad to hear from you, Clo!

Yes, a group buy is best. And now you all can get a nice little discount on the GoMINIGo LPB No Holes License Plate Bracket (shameless plug) as well.

Just send it in. You will love the plates.

Sweet product at a great price... I was just telling the wife how impressed I am at the cost of these items (the patch as well). Honestly, based on my experiences with other groups of this type, I almost expected JUST THE PLATE to cost $20.. plus $8 shipping or something like that... The "combo pack" offered above was only $19 plus $6 shipping for the plate AND the bonnet placard.

Thanks for "keeping it real"! Combo pack ordered!

Thanks for the comment

I just cannot see taking advantage of my friends and the MINI community. It does not make sense and only bad feelings would result. We are happy to provide a fun product at low cost for you folks. We will cover our costs and then a little without gouging anyone.

Happy to do so.

Maryland requires front plates, and I have too many speeding tickets to risk any more infractions.
Would the tow hook mount still fit on the front with a state plate already in place?

Yes, the tow hook mount would allow for the mounting of the DRAGON Plate if you already have the state plate mounted. It would sit just to passenger side of the front plate and not interfere with view of the state plate.

Colorado requires front plates too

However, when I leave the state line, that changes. KS and other places cannot enforce the tag requirement nor would they necessarily know. Feel free to drive your own in MD but commemorate the DRAGON elsewhere.

Good thing Maryland is a small state....
