I took these pictures yesterday at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, just outside of Denver. Enjoy!

Many thanks to AprilWhine for the little tutorial on how to do thumbnails with links to the high resolution pictures.

Finally a picture of the hood showing the 3M Stonegard seam (which is actually hard to photograph, since it's not that obvious to begin with).

Sometimes Imagestation doesn't like to share, so here's a link to the entire photo album

Dave. Nice pics. You're making it really hard to wait. I probably won't have my PS S until Nov. or Dec. Not a bad Christmas present, though. My wife is too sweet.

What I'm wondering is if you're running performance or all-season tires? I'm still trying to decide whether or not to go with 17's and if I do, will all-season be a bit softer than perf.????

Test drove with 17's and perf. and it road pretty rough. In AZ we've got some really good roads and some really bad roads.

Anybody out there running 17's with all-season? Do you like them?

Congrats on the S, Dave.

My MINI is a Pre-Spec with the Dunlop 17" Run Flats (performance)

I plan on getting a set of 16" take off wheels with all seasons for the winter.

jmarsz: are you from colorado? Garden of the Gods is so nice. I love that area. Having the Royal Gorge and Pikes Peak nearby makes Colorado Springs a very nice area. I really need to get the MINI out of Denver and down that way sometime soon.

Very nice pics. Quick question for you, where did you install the 3M Stonegard at and how much was it? Did you also use it on the lights?

Thanks for your help.

I had my Stonegard (aka Clear Bra) installed at a company here in Denver called I.D.S. (303) 734-4500 (8071-B S. Broadway, Littleton for you locals). They do stonegard, window tint, and what not. They also have the contract from McDonnald Audi/VW to install stonegard and tint on all of their cars. IDS had done a couple MINI's previous to mine.

I had the following covered in 3M film:
- a 24" deep section over the front edge of the hood
- the bumper cover
- the grille slats
- the mirror caps
- the headlights

total cost was $450. That seems to be the market price here in Denver to get the full wrap done (I had estimates done at 5 different places before deciding on IDS). Just the hood usually ran about $200 - $225 depending on the place.

I'm really pleased with the application IDS did. And in the end that was what was most important to me - that the work be done correctly.

As far as longevity goes, does it keep it's shine? My buddy had ClearBra put on his Audi and it looked pretty good but the gloss of the ClearBra didn't match the gloss of the paint so it looked kinda funny in certain light.
I have had 3M stonegard on my jetta for two years with no discoloration or loss of shine. Maybe the film on your friend's Audi isn't stonegard (Clear Bra is just a marketing name, not the actual product name). Also, on some colors the clear film is more noticable. On the dark silver it blends in very nicely. Like I said above, it was very hard to photograph because the seam on the hood is very subtle.

I miss Colorado!!! Both my husband's and my parents live in COS...and I grew up there. Very nice; weather is 800% (about the humidity level in Alabama and Mississippi where I live now) better than it is here. You guys from CO are all making me miss it so much! Like that video you all shot? Yeah...have some more fun out there for me!!!

Oh yeah, and since you're in AZ and CO, I'd definitely recommend the all-season tires w/the snow and stuff...even down here with the rain we get, I'm getting the 17" run-flats.

Yeah, there's a lot to like about living here. I can totally appreciate missing it. I grew up here in Denver and went to CU Boulder. Then moved out to L.A. for 5 years (Redondo Beach). I really missed Denver/Colorado a lot.

Yeah, I went from Ft. Collins to N. Cali...I missed Colorado a lot. Then I moved from there to Alabama...my husband teases me because now I miss Cali. When I move to Mississippi later, I have a feeling I WON'T miss Alabama!!!

I actually kind of liked Alabama... well at least Huntsville. My grandparents lived there. I spend quite a bit of time at the Space and Rocket Center.

...never made it to Birmingham though Sfiveten

Not a problem. Thanks for reminding me I hadn't been to Garden of the Gods since I was a kid. My sister (in town for the week from Boston) and I went down to Garden of the Gods and the Royal Gorge over the weekend.
