Anyone plan to attend the F1 GP weekend in Montreal on June 13-15, 2003?

Air Canada Grand Prix

I assume that there will be a MINI event on the Friday evening before the race on the street that BMW reserves for the weekend. Has MINI Canada sent any invitations to anyone yet?

Good to see another F1 fan at MCO.

I would love to go to the Canadian GP, but I haven't won the lottery!

Let us know how it was.

Gonna watch Monaco tomorrow?

Yes...and I enjoyed every minute of the Williams/BMW victory!

Things are looking UP for Montreal now...5 different winners in 7 races.

I had fingers and toes crossed for Juan, Mikey tried hard to make up the time though. Heck even the qualifying for Monaca was a thrill to watch.

Juan Pablo Montoya had a great victory. I think tyres had something major to do with it, not to take any credit away. Schumacher kept losing time in the middle stint, so I think Williams just beat everyone fair and square. Not like last year where Coulthard was clearly slower than Schumacher.

I hear ya...I was thinking about going to Indy this year. Hotels alone are charging over $200 a night. Add the price of some good seats...ouch!!! Thank goodness we have Speed Channel (too much NASCAR though). I think they are offering people the chance to drive on the Indy circuit if you buy 4 tickets to the race which sounds cool.

It's no secret...I'm rooting for Schumacher!!!

Maybe we should start an F1 thread!

What do ya think, in Racing and Competition or Off-Topic?

I'm thinking racing and competition, although Off-topic is probably more appropriate since we are not talking about MINIs exactly

I'll be driving up in my MCS from Boston on Friday night to attend the F1 GP weekend (and it's even work-related, too! ). Let me know if there's some sort of MINI happening going on. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

I'm British Racing Green with envy. I'll be at Indy in September though.

I think I have a work dinner to go to (with the folks picking up my tab for the weekend, so it's not too bad a tradeoff). How late do you expect the MINI crowd to be around?

Several of us GBMINI (MA), MGBman(VT) and MEmini(ME) are coming up for the GP from the states. Look for us Friday night at the MINI event and on the inside of the hairpin!

Do we need an invite or can we just show up with our MINIs ? At one point somebody mentioned invitations from dealers in Canada.

I would try to contact the MINI dealer in Montreal in the next several days and ask them...I believe, depending on the number of MINIs that show, they will probably let you park on rue Peel, but you won't get into the pub without the invite...hope to see you all there.

BTW, this thread is from two years ago...
