I Friggin' Love This Little Girl!

I just made a pre-snow grocery run. Milk, Bread, Potatoes and the like. Not only did it all fit in, with the dog (87 lbs Golden Retriever) but burble burble, snarl vrroooooom, it was fun. I passed all of the people I needed to pass. I enjoyed every curve. I hated getting out to go to the store and I loved getting in to come home. And even though the headlights were a bit late coming on, they did. So I forgive them.

I know that any car will have problems. Rocinante will, but I hope not too soon. Nevertheless, I still find myself smiling when I walk out the door and approach my car. And I continue to smile while I am driving. That has NEVER been my experience before.

CTDAVID - your post - description - put a big smile on my face. You mean you didn't get accousted by some little ole lady at the store - frantically searching for TP and Eggs???

Just wondering how 87 pounds of Golden Retriever loved those curves!

Sometimes I just sit in the garage and look at her. What a beauty. She makes people smile. That's a rare gift.

87 Pounds of Retriever

He hates it. But then he hates getting into any car. when he was a puppy, he got car sick. Not anymore, but he has that memory. But he settles down quite nicely in Rocinante, and takes the trip to VT and back without a whimper (4 hours one way) He sheds, so no pics on my interior (Cloth and hair) but he is fine with it once I force him in.

My point was to rejoice in the sheer pleasure of it all. I am 51 and finally have a car that makes me grin, even when I see it through the kitchen window. It burbles when it has to and it sometimes overrevs in 2nd and that concerns me for a moment, and then it catches third and suddenly I am pressed back in the seat and feeling good again.

My 2 Dodge Colts were like that in a way, but the MINI folks have truly done it justice. And She is just such a good looking girl!

I am lucky to own both a Porsche and a Mini and I have to say it is not far off in terms of fun factor.

You're preachin to the choir, sister!

My wife calls my a MINI snob: I take Monty whenever I can, even for short trips, even when our other car is sitting in the driveway.
