I think there are some minor mechanical/safety changes as well. My 2006 cabrio was one of the ones that was accidentally given a 2007 VIN at the factory. When MINI was trying to decide what to do with the affected cars (about 150 of them), one of the options was just to re-build all of the cars from scratch, giving them correct 2006 VINs, and later sell the "mistakes" as 2007 models.
That option was nixed because even though the cars had 2007 VINs, they were built to 2006 specs, and didn't meet all of the 2007 safety standards.
So, while I don't know exactly *what* changed between the 2006 and 2007 convertibles, I'm pretty sure something did.
Of course one difference that I forgot to mention in my original post is the addition of a turbo charger in 2007 and the delition of the 2006 supercharger.

'07 verts are supercharged. They won't be turbo'd til '09

Not in the 'vert - still the supercharger last I heard (must make for some interesting production issues). And the MCS shoudl have the 6 speed auto option, not the CVT as previously mentioned
Man, did your MA sell you a 2007 cabrio by telling you it would come with the new powerplant? Tell me it ain't so.
No, that's not what happened. I had already decided that I wanted the 2007 MCSc in Pure Silver with certain optional equipment and I asked if it was different from the 2006? I had already made my decision to order one. I did not want an MCS coupe, I'm not partial to how they look. (I'm trying to be polite.) So learning of the turbo was incidental to my decision, not part of the proximate cause of my decision to order the 2007.

ok, not part of your decision, but did your MA say it had a turbo and not a sc??
I think y'all are right. I picked my MCSC Hot Orange on Wednesday. Motoring advisor said there was no change from the '06 although I really like the AUX port
