Still confused about run flats due to so much misinformation out there - please help
I have a 2005 MINI non S
Is it true that I cannot mount standard tires on my stock wheels that currently have run flats on?
If I change wheels and tires because of above, will I lose the tire pressure monitoring feature?
Will the cost of replacing all 4 run flats be way more than buying new wheels and standard tires? Meaning is it more economical to switch to standard wheels and tires than buy new run flats when its time? I overheard someone at Pep Boys say that 4 run flats cost him $1300. I think I can buy cool 17" wheels and standard tires at Tire Rack for less than that!

non RF will fit/work on your stock wheels.
tire pressure monitor will still work.
RF's typically are at least $200 a piece... i know if you buy the from the dealership (read: ripoff) you're gonna be set back $1200 for the whole set

Yeah, what glnr13 said!
The tire pressure monitoring system is going to work, no matter which wheel and tire combination you choose, because the system is based on rotation speed of each wheel. There are sensors that measure wheel rotation. When one wheel's speed changes for seemingly no reason, the system lets you know that you probably have a flat tire. (In layman's terms).
