Still Debating...

I STILL CANT DECIDE ON WETHER OR NOT I SHOULD GET A MINI CABRIO. I OLAN ON KEEPING MY COUPE FOR ABOUT 6 YEARS BEFORE SELLING IT AND I WAS WONDERING IF A CONVERTIBLE WOULD STILL LOOK HALF WAY DECENT AFTER THAT AMOUNT OF TIME. IM OCD AND IF THE TOP LOOKS LIKE CRAP AFTER TWO YEARS WITH ALL THOSE WHITE MARKS I WILL FREAK!

I know MINI has done quite a bit to try and make th cabrios more durable and athstetically pleaseing in the long run, curious to see what responses you'll get. Good thing is you've got time with this body style to make your descion.

First, take a deep breath and quit yelling! There have been several upgrades to the top that are supposed to make the white marks quit appearing. If you're a cabrio person, get the drop top. If you don't know what a cabrio person is, get the tin top.

Going on 12 months and looks brand new. Just clean it and seal it and you should be fine. I live in Florida and use mine year round. This my fourth convertible and I can't imagine being without one!!

oy vey...your yelling doesn't help my hangover.

Only you can choose but proper care of top OR replacement by dealer will always keep it looking new.

if white marks do appear how long will it take them to appear, and how many times will the dealer replace the roof. has anyones roof leaked because of a replacement?

Also, the Cabrio wont be as quick as the hardtop,it's heavier, and wont handle as well because of the body flexing. But the open sky motoring cancels out both of those things. Go for it.

I have had 2 tin tops and just bought a previously owned Cabrio right before Thanksgiving. Today it was 72 degrees and the top was down. This is my first time to own a convertible of any kind, so I didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that I doubt I'll ever own anything other than a convertible again. This week we installed the ProMINI strut brace and today installed the H&R Sway bar and all I can say is WOW what a difference!!

I really only have 3 more mods until my little Grover is perfect, pulley, driving lights and new stripes.

I couldn't be happier!! Well, I could, but the car is perfect!!

While this is true to "some" extent, I've never had much trouble keeping up with the tintops on the twisties

My cabrio is ungaraged & I am just beginning to notice slight marks on it at around 2 years. If you apply fabric protectant a few times a year your top should stay looking nice. A fabric top will never look as perfect as a well kept tin top but the trade off is well worth it

I haven't had my cabrio long enough to comment on the "white marks," but to echo the sentiments of others...what a trade off! There is nothing better than top-down motoring on a 70 degree day...heaven!

Just ordered......

2007 MCSC in Hot Orange......

I had driven an MC 'vert loaner car this past year, and loved it.......and now that the WIKKED ONE is nearing his 50,000 mile mark, it's time to trade up...

My advice to you is....go out and drive one, maybe for a day, and if you DON'T love it....get a tin top.........but if you can't stop a-grinin' .... you KNOW you got to get a 'vert!

Ohhh I hope you are gonna add a WIKKED paint job to your new vert. Your tintop is my all-time favorite because of your flames

Well Shucks....Thanks!

On N.A.M. - my "flame job" usually seems to cause more controversy than compliments.....probably just jealousy!

My New 'vert will NOT be getting the 'bling treatment' - I am going with 'orange and black/carbon fiber' theme - this one's gonna be my 'Driver Mini' - I don't want to have too many shiney things to polish......
