Feedback on EBC Redstuff pads

I'm looking for replacement pads for my 03' MCS-JCW (non-JCW brake setup), and haven't found much feedback on NAM regarding the EBC Redstuff pads. I autocross 10-12 events/yr and hit a few track days. The stock pads are about shot, so any info is appreciated!

You've got a real dilemma.

For AX you want brakes that work great when they are stone cold. Probably just getting stock replacement pads or equivalent would be your best bet. Not an expert on this though. Haven't AXed with the MINI in almost a year now. Stock pads worked fine for me.

For track you want pads that can take the heat. I use Mintex 1155s up front and Mintex 1144s in the rear. I also have slotted rotors at all four corners. I tried EBS Redstuff for track and found them lacking...

Which is the priority - AX or track?

I did one really hot auto-x this summer, (around 92 ambient, not sure on track), and my brakes really showed signs of fading. This was a completely new experience for me; I'd never pushed my brakes that hard, to where they faded on me. Someday I plan to do a big brake kit, or at the very least, some EBC Greenstuff pads, stainless lines, brake caliper tensioning kit, better fluid, and maybe even some powerslot rotors...

Really, my emphasis is AXing with maybe a couple of track days, but it's still my daily driver. I've really been satisfied with the OEM pads, but was looking for a bit more bite under AX conditions, but performance on the street and track, too. Sounds like I'll be changing pads for those rare track days. Thanks for the input!

Make sure and change your fluid to Motul/ATE if you haven't already.

I've put a few thousand miles on the reds, commuting only. I had the greenstuffs on F/R, and now I'm tring reds front/greens rear. I find the ABS kicks in quicker and more often with my new setup. So aparently I need better tires. Dust reduction seems similar between the two as well.

As long as you're looking at EBC, they do have a hotter yellowstuff pad that they say is streetable....?

I remember reading a few Ax'ers have a dedicated track set and street set pads. They're pretty easily swaped out if you into that kinda thing.

The fluid flush and replace with Motul is on the winter list. Thanks for the input.

I had EBC redstuff pads on my previous car and they don't glazed over and don't eat rotor much. I didn't have glazing problems with any other pads on that car either(some more, and some less aggressive.)
