R50/53 Oxygen Sensor
Oxygen Sensor
I purchased a 2002 Cooper a little over a year ago. Last month the transmission went out. After a 3K replacement with a used transmission, I have discovered I need to replace the oxygen sensor. I have researched to discover there are several type available. Some termed as universal that run 20 to 40 dollars, and specific replacements that run around 180 dollars. I hate to be cheap after dropping 3 grand on a transmission, but I figure I am qualified to replace an oxygen sensor. Does anyone have any advice?

Classic in OH will sell the OEM one for around $170 with the NAM 20%. The way this car is with the sensors and computers - I wonder how it would handle an aftermarket version..........
How'd you figure you need one? Did you throw a code? I've got one sitting on the shelf I bought for the recommend change out at 100k, just haven't gotten around to it yet, but I've only put an extra 22k on it since then
Good luck
