R50/53 Distance Remaing Limbo - How Low Did You Go?

Filled up the other day with 9 miles "Estimated Distance Remaining". My MINI ended up taking on 11.66 gallons (29.05 mpg on my 4th tank). Supposedly I had ~ 1.5 gallons left.
Anybody taken their distance calculation lower, how much did you find you actually had left in the tank?

Interesting post, wjklos...
As soon as the little light turns red on my fuel guage I start to wig out and fuss about finding a gas station. Post Traumatic Stress holdover from my Omni, which read 1/8th tank just before it was about to keel over and die from fuel starvation.
Good to know I can get it down to 9 at least... give or take. Possibly I'll wig a little less with this knowledge.
