MINI owners in Stuttgart

I am coming to Stuttgart in January and would like to start up a MINI Owners Club if anyone is interested. I was part of SoCal MINI Maniacs in San Diego and it was good times. Let me know if anyone is interested or if there is already one there

Hey John,

You could start one up, or you could simply go to MINI2.info and find a local chapter and join. MINI2.info is a HUGE German club with chapters everywhere. They have lots of runs and events. Most speak English, but it would be best if you started learning a little German.

Wilkommen!

Hey, John,
You lucky dog! I spent 3 years in Augsburg.. wish I could go back! Some Sunday drive down to Kloister Andechs (on the East side of the Ammersee), have a liter glass of Doppelbock and a schweinehaxe. As your lips and throat go numb, and your stomach fills with Heaven, enjoy the view of the Alps from the patio and count your blessings.. Cheers from Florida!

The only other site that is really good is MINI2.com. I am a mod there.

The folks on MINI2.info do and will speak English for the most part. That site is great for finding events in Germany and for making new friends and learning German.

Lastly, you have us! Rudy is a great resource for new information (ahh, I remember our first run Rudy) and usually keeps us posted on upcoming events and Phillip is German and speaks excellent English. Either way, we can help you get settled in your new home.

Unfortunetly I am in Grafenwoehr now (4 hour drive) but I do travel to Stuttgart from time to time.

(Sung to "Oh Tannenbaum")
Oh Grafenwoehr, Oh Grafenwoehr
Thats where we spend half of the year!
Firing tank and rifle shells
blowing targets all to hell
Oh Grafenwoehr, Oh Grafenwoehr
Thats where we spend half of the year!

So many memories!

No, I did my time back 75-78, with the Big Red One. I fell in love with Germany. In 2000 I went back to pick up a new Mercedes and show my kids where I'd been. We drove to Augsburg, Munchen, Berchtesgaden, Garmisch, Triberg, and ended back in Frankfurt to go home. If I could figure out a way to live over there, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Lots of good roads, good beer and good times to be had. Hey, flake, if your in the military, take care, you guys are the best we got.
John, sorry, didn't mean to highjack the thread.

LOL, no problem... I'm a contractor over here working with the military. I just moved to Graf from Heidelberg about 5 months ago. I love driving out here...

John is going to have a great time.

I'm here, RudyT checking in. Sorry for the late reply in this thread. I live over on the west side of Germany, about 4 hours away from Stuggart. I have visited there before and probally will again in the next coming months.

Stuggart is a great area to live in. Near the grueling Black Forest Area. You will have some serious fun there. The roads are just begging to be carved and the scenery will leave you in awe.

As daflake said, as soon as I hear of ANY MINI event, I am quick to post it here and sometimes at MINI2.com. Since daflake is the mod there, I am sure he will take care of the postings there .

Either way, between us here at NAM, mini2.info and mini2.com, we've got you covered.

LOL, got it covered. Rudy, I am also setting up a WEB page (blog) that I want to post German MINI endevours on for us US folks here that don't speak the language. So, if you hear of any, please send me an e-mail (will@potere.org).

The link is http://www.potere.org/index.php?/mini

I plan on creating a tab that we can post and comment on about up comming runs. Things like registration and such (that I missed at the Hamburg MINI Days). I figured between us we can cover the major events. Also, MINI United is coming soon. I believe that it will be in Belgium this year.

MINI United in belguim? Where in the world did you hear that ... Its been reported that it will take place in Zandvoort in the Netherlands July 22nd through the 24th. I havn't posted this till the details are official.

MINI already has a teaser page.
http://www.miniunited.com/MINIUnited/en/index.jsp

Details are expected to be released 31 January 2007. Rest assured soon after it will be all over the forums including a thread here.

Its been rumored that Gabe, Db, and Todd from whiteroofradio might be coming to take part in MINI United. Hmm....

I am also setting up a WEB page (blog) that I want to post German MINI endevours on for us US folks here that don't speak the language.
This is a great idea. Why havn't I thought of it sooner. This can act as a central place for all of us MINI zealots to get information. I still don't know the laungage. A central point with up to date information for english/american folks. This can help ease the pain of cultural barriers. Let me know if you need help. I'll be sure to email any information I hear of down the grapevine.

Long days... (I'm working an exercise right now) I meant the Netherlands.

Rudy, if you go to the site and create an account, I would be happy to give you publishing permissions.

John,

Please post if you get anything setup. We plan to visit Stuttgart in May or June after MINI United. I have been to Stuttgart several times. It's a great city. Love the hills covered in vineyards as you ride the train up the valley.
