Freaked Out

I was at a stop light and It was about to turn green so I put it in first and started to go, went to shift into 2nd. The car went into gear, but it didnt bring down my RPM's. So I then went into 3rd still with no luck of bring down the RPM's. By this time they are about around 7. I shift into neutral and let the RPM's go back down then shift in to 2nd, this time it worked with no problems and I was able to get home without any other issues. Anyone know what could be wrong?

I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like your clutch is not doing its job.

In case misery loves company, I'm starting to feel my clutch slipping irregularly and the other day Leif asked me if I had been noticing any clutch issues as teh engagement point seemed "off".

Perhaps we can get a 2-fer special.

Burning rubber? Sounds like the clutch. I had a similar problem with my 82 Mercedes. Take it in and have them go over it.
