iPod operating question

I have my ipod-mini hooked up via the aux input into a Belkin Auto kit ....when you shut the car off it pauses the ipod which after awhile turns itself off, which is what I want...but when I turn the car back on and turn the ipod on, the ipod boots up and goes to the beginning of its srceens......so my question is:

When you turn the ipod back on, is there a way to get the ipod to go right back to the same playlist you were listening to when it was paused?

Or at least a way that when you turn it on it opens up onto the Playlist screen

I don't think that there is with that version of hookup. It is power being applied to the unit that wakes it up.

Hmmm, this is probably the one thing that the OEM ipod adapter does really well!

The only option I can think of is to manually turn off the iPod before it shuts off, then turn it back on when you get in the car. That should keep it's location in the playlist, correct? Just like using it yourself...

well, I made the main menu display be more simple...I made the display upon boot-up only say 'playlists' and 'settings' , so at leat I don't have to be fumbling around on that first screen trying to highlight 'playlists'
