How RAYs wheels are made...

Found on Autoblog.com. Has video showing wheels being manufactured. Might be interesting to folks in this forum.

The cast rims

get "cold flowed" like the spun rims used with the forged centers....

Seems like the only difference is really in the hub/spokes....

Some companies offer very high quality wheels no matter if forged or cast. They have there own standards and the prices are reflected in their products.

The video was interesting. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing!

I have had 16x7 CE28N's for about 3 years now, and I'm very happy with their durability. They've seen their share of potholes, and even a couple of exciting off-road excursions.

10.75 lbs... and tough!

I paid something like 300 bucks each (cash), no tax or shipping charges as I picked them up at a local distributor. I saw other wheels for 200 something each, but they weren't as light, and their reputation for durability more questionable. Tax and shipping put them almost at the same price as the Volks... so it was a no-brainer.
