15" Wheel Choice / Pros and Cons / Tire size
the Minus also look like Rota SubZeros fwiw...
I have the same dilemma: 15s or 16s? There is a thread about the Konig Rewinds and different sizes associated with them...also with weights. I think the sizes were 205 or 215/50/15s

For 15" tires, I'd look at 205/55/15's or 195/60/15's. I think those are about the two closest matches to the OEM outter diameter.
I have a set of 195/55/15's and another of 205/50/15's, both of which also work fine, and have a better selection of available tires (205-50-15 in particular has a lot of great tires available).

I really like the minus wheels. I use 205/50/15 for the track, but I wouldn't consider it for the street. I know many on this site do, but I tried it, and with my commute being 35 miles, 30 of them highway, the 205/50 cause the engine to be at too high revs for my liking.

205-60/15 is a bit tall and about 3-5% more circumference than stock depending on your stock tire and wheel size. Not a real big deal but you'll be traveling that much faster than your speedo will read, and that much further than your odometer will read.

Also, my local discount tire wouldn't order the wheels, saying my MCS stock brakes were too big, but they clear just fine.
Rims
I have a set of stock 15" rims but decided to go with the Dayton wire wheels through British Wire Wheel and a set of 205 50/16 tires. I don't race and the gas mileage doesn't vary that much so it was all about looks for me.
I had the Ecsta SPT on BBS RG-F's. Fine, capable tire, but the sidewall isn't very stiff. If you are looking for quick reflexes, look elsewhere. Ride comfort is excellent and so is wet and dry traction
225/50/R15 Works fine!
Check out this tire size, the selection is more limited, but the tires look awesome, and add a lot to the size of the contact patch! I run mine on TD PR 1.2's without trouble.

Am currently running the other two and prefer the Toyo T1R, especially in the wet. Would buy again, and they are very lightweight - every little bit helps!
I don't know anything about the kuhmos, but I wouldn't put the falkens with the AVS or the T1R since the Ziex are all seasons and the others are performance summer tires. I had the falkens and loved them, but you're going to get much better treadwear and much less performance with them. If you like comfort and a pretty sticky all-season, the falken is a great choice at a very good price. If you're a performance nut, then the proxes or the ES100 are the way to go. Or you could blow both of those away and get the goodyear eagle f1 gsd3s

The closest match for an MCS on 15 " konigs (while getting a wide tire) is a 205/60/15. It also affords a nice smooth ride which massively adds to high speed cornering when you arent on a track. (hit a bump, car stays put, low profile you jarr).
anyways, its great. I have falk 512 all seasons at 30 lbs of pressure on konig rewinds, 205/60/15. It looks perfect, and drives like glue.
Falken 512's have truly impressed me. I have tried to get them to rip up a bit, they wont. I rate them medium on noise level of not so noisy tires, not the best. I think 16's have better selection in this department but the car loves 15's so much it isnt funny. People use 55's to be under the height by like 1.8%, 60 is above by like 1%. I personalyl rather have slightly better top speed than 0-10 speed.

I've spent time in FWD cars in all of the tires you've mentioned, and currently have the Toyo T1R's in 195/55-15 on a set of stock Mini holey wheels that I use on my Mini and Miata. Great lightweight tire for street use during the warmer months. There are stickier performance tires out there (like the Falken Azenis and the Hankook Z212), but they are all heavier and have other compromises for street use.
The Yokohama ES100's were a decent tire when they came out a number of years ago, but have been surpassed in virtually every category by other tires since then (grip, weight, price, etc). The Kumho SPT is a good mid-level summer performance tire that is better in the rain than any of the tires mentioned (none of them are bad in the rain though), but gives up some dry traction to the Yoko and the Toyo.
If you keep it to those four tires, I'd recommend the Toyo if it will be a warm weather only tire, and the Falken 512 if you will be using the tire in cold, inclement weather.

I have had the Ziex 512 in 16s for a little over a year now. The fronts are gone. They are a distinct improvement from runflats. I can't speak to 15s though. I am in Florida and won't get all-season unless price determines it. I got them for $72 each which is pretty darn good for what they are.
I am in the school of not rotating so I won't have to buy four tires at a time. My rears are moving up to the front and the new rubber on the back.

Wouldn't 195/60 / 15. be better? closer to stock?

I recently put 15X7 BBS RGFs on my '06 Cooper, and decided on 195/60/15 'cause I wanted to stay close to OE diameter. I went with Toyo Proxes tpt from Edgeracing - good price and the tire was available in VR speed rating. If you have sufficient width on the Konigs you could also go with 205/55/15, and like mineon said, 195/55/15 is a good size as well and only marginally "short" as to diameter - more choices in perf. tires than 195/60/15 too.
