Fireballed Thanksgiving
Fireballed Thanksgiving
I just got back from a trip to L.A. to visit family for turkey day and my dad suggested that we drop by South Bay MINI to check out some of their cars. My parents have two BMWs they just bought from South Bay so Dad was kind of showing off. Driving the lovely Aveo rental my wife and I headed out to see if we might be able to get a glance at some of the special MINIs Fireball Tim had put together... It ended up much better.
I wandered around with my camera taking pictures of Shockwave and Neo and chatting with the MA (waiting for my dad to show up) when my wife and I were invited to walk over to Fireball's shop and see the two that would be at the L.A. Autoshow.
It was FANTASTIC! Oddjob and Interceptor are so cool! I was overwhelmed by everything that I saw and Tim showed us around and talked about some him fantasitc plans for the place. Both cars were near completion and I wasn't able to take any pictures (classified stuff
).
Oddjob- Pure Silver and classy with the subtle 007 gun forming the graphic on the exterior. A true Bond lover's MINI.
Interceptor- WOW! Even with work needed to complete it the car captures Blade Runner perfectly- It was "More MINI than MINI"
...and don't even get me started about the show stopping Black Turbo.
If you have a chance take a look at these in person- youification at its finest.
We also saw a design for "Fuzz" a classic. Which has made me think about what I want to do with my classic, and already in the design stage an R56.
I wish I could go back and see these cars at the show. At least I now know one place I'm going to stop by each time I make it to L.A. MINI owner's Disneyland- Fireball Tim's.
Thanks to everyone who showed us around and making our trip memorable.
Unfortunately, my dad missed it all.
