Missing part... or not

My '80 Saloon looks like something WAS mounted under the bonnet on the inside of the right wing (flitch panel?). The area has mounting holes, is near the air duct and above the flywheel cover. What, if anything, is suppose to be there? I've looked in all my books for pictures of that area but cannot find anything.

My windscreen bottle is up next to the wiper motor. Here's a view of the mystery area in question. Maybe the widscreen bottle SHOULD be there, but it seems to fit nicely where it is, and its next to the pump.

That is where the big round fresh air heater should be, assuming it was a Canadian export.

I had seen a pix somewhere along the way of what appeared to be a squirrel cage blower in that location. But I didnt know why it was there unless it was for forcing "fresh" engine/bonnet air into the car. But that duct shown goes to the heater box doesn't it? If so, where do the fresh air vents get their fresh air, from the other wing? (I havent removed the dash yet so I don't know the routing of things behind it.)

The vent thru your flitch panel (inner fender well) should have a 90' plastic attachment that brings air from behind the grill, not the engine compartment. That feeds the heater and the RH fresh air vent. There should be a similar, but smaller, flex tube on the other side for the LH fresh air vent..

Not the original color, but it is nice looking. The original was a bright green as I discovered when I took off one of the door cards. Kinda like this: http://www.minicolours.co.uk/display.cgi?code=208

Trying to decide on wheel color now. Currently they are hand-painted silver on top of white. I want to strip them and powder coat them , probably with white.

mine was originally Orange, and someone painted it blue. but they didn't paint any of the inside metal parts.

I'll probably keep it blue, but at some point I'm thinking of making it a bit darker.

Minimad, the plastic elbow from the flitch panel to the grill - does it fit tightly to the back of the grill? I just added a 4" alum elbow dryer duct (Home Depot $2.39) That fits nicely but it doesn't quite reach the grill. And its ugly as a mud fence too. Haven't driven it yet to see if it works. Dunno why BL didn't terminate the right-side duct inside the right wing (like the left one) instead of thru the flitch.
