Help me pick...

[I am getting new rims.hehe. I dont want to spend over 2k like I did on my rsx, so I found these Tenzo's that I like. I want my mini to turn heads. The fast will come later, for now I want "Damn that car looks sick with those wheels".hehe. Please let me know if you like the first or the second. First is Hypber Black, second is Gunmetal. I have a Dark Silver Mini with Black Roof and mirrors. 1 more thing. Would I lose torque and speed if I went with 18x8.5? or should I stay with 17x7s? I had 18x8.5's on my rsx type S and I could feel the speed lost by the bigger wheels. If you have any suggestions for rims please dont hesitate!

Wheels matching roof looks good to me. Go with the black.

Definitely option 1. If the tire profile is reduced on the 18 inch rim suffciently to give you the same outside tire diameter as is stock, there will be no change in percieved torque or accelleration. Assumming your original tire size was 205/45/17, you could go to a 205 or 215/40/18 and actually improve accellerating torque by 3.3% or 2.7%, respectively. Going any wider than 215 will probably start requiring the cutting of plastic parts and even a hammer to the sheet metal as you get to 235 and above. Have fun!

assuming the overall weight of the wheel/tire combo is the same, then yes. That said, the stock setup is portly at best and without spending much money, you can buy new wheels and run wider rubber and lose 10lbs per corner. that improves handling, braking and acceleration. It's not a huge difference, but if the OP felt the effects of a heavier setup on his last car, there's room for improvement in the MCS for sure.

I like #3, the 7-spoke. Your car colors drive a black wheel. The first two look like they would be less fun to clean.

Number 1 looks GREAT! That's my vote. I would say go with 17" wheels and lower the car.

Hey guys thanx for the replys. The difference between the first 2 are slight, first is hyper black, you can tell my the relfection on the lip. second is gunmetal. For sure its between the 1st and 3rd one for me now. Damnit the 4th one looks good too!!! I have seen rims like the 1st one on a mcs before...

these are like the first but they are chrome. Im not really feeling them now. I for sure want the lip deep lip look, so I think 18s will have to do. I'll probably just get the smaller tire. If I put the a 205/45/18, I shouldnt have too much of a wheel gap right? It would still have the stock gap? Sorry guys for the noobness, but I just dont want to lose performance like I did on my rsx if I get the 18.

I don't think 18 X 8.5 will fit on a MINI without serious rubbing?

I have similar looking wheels on my MINI. Mine are 18 X 7.5 and I have 215/35/18 Toyo Proxes 4 for tires.

Look here for a closeup picture of them on the MINI: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0&ppuser=18057

If it's stickiness you want, go with the B.F. Goodrich g-Force R1 compound. Be advised, that this tire has a true racing compound that has been moulded into a DOT approved street tire and the tread molded to 4/32 of an inch. The tires will last less than 1000 miles if you'e 4 wheel drifting all the time but can get to 8-10,000 if you aren't on it 100% of the time. Caution: they will hydroplane on a gob of spit.

A few years back the price was heavily disounted from ordinary tires because Goodrich was subsidizing racing activities. They still might be.

Also look at the Yokohama A032R H-Compound ] (6/32" tread) , but they don't discount as heavily. (The tire may have been updated to A048R, but that may be for another application)

If I had these rims on my dark silver/black top mini-S, would it look good? Whatcha guys think? the red would match with the red S on the side and if I had red calipers it would pop even more. Let me know.

I think I found another wheel that is simply sick. its only 14lbs. Whatcha guys think?? I think by far its the best one i've found. I also thought about some gram lights.
SSR type C-RS 14 lbs

OR these powdercoated black. Gram light 17.5 lbs
