Question about steering angle stop for 18" JCW Tires

Okay...I've been told by the guy in parts that a "steering angle stop" (I think that's the name for it) is NOT required when you put on a set of 18" JCW wheels. I have read several dealer websites as well as the JCW catalog (I think) and those sources seem to suggest that a steering angle stop is a necessity. Can someone tell me if this part is mandatory? If it isn't can someone tell me why I want one anyway or why I don't want one at all. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Chuck

I dont need it either. I wonder if you are reffering to the stop that goes ontop of the rear control arms if you have the JCW suspension...
