MINI fun run in Arkansas
We had a great time on the Arkansas MINI fall foliage run. 4 MINIs left Hot Springs and headed to Russellville. We stopped in at Feltner's Whatta-burger for lunch. This Whatta-burger is nothing like the others. We particularly don't like other Whatta-burgers, but this one is worth stopping at. It's the place to stop in Russellville. Plus, it's not that far off the I 40. Take the hwy 7 exit and head towards the college. Just past the college you'll see it on the corner. It's not even a mile off the interstate. We had one MINI that needed to leave, but one MINI met up with us. So we continued on with 4 MINIs.
Hwy 7 just north of Russellville was gorgeous! The colors were at their peak; they were so alive, it was so pretty. You'd crest a hill or go around a curve and the beauty would take you away.
Hwy 123 was something else. 10mph S curves downhill. I realized I was taking them too fast when my back end skidded around one and my brakes bounced. The back end skidding was fun, but I don't like the feeling of my brakes bouncing, especially around a curve. This road had sidewalks and curbs!! In the middle of nowhere. I suppose to help you in case you didn't quite make a turn; instead of hitting the mountain (they were on the mountain side of the road, not the drop off side) maybe the sidewalk or curb will cause your wheel to turn so the impact wouldn't be as hard on the mountain. That's the only thing I can figure.
When we left Harrison we went on down hwy 43 to Ponca where we saw a few elk. Then back around to 7 and on down to Russellville
We had a great time. I love taking those curves!

OOOOOOOOO I love Hwy 7!!!! The only time i've driven it though was at night in the rain, lightning, and fog. I could tell it would have been fun had the conditions been a little better, oh well. I was going from Russelville to Hot Springs. Next time I go down there I'm planning a side trip to drive it again.
