R50/53 Cluth/Brake Noise?
Cluth/Brake Noise?
Arggghhh ..
I've had my Cooper for almost 7 months now.
And Ive noticed maybe 2 days ago that whenever I get into 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear theres a noise when I clutch out or push on the brakes. Its really hard to describe the noise.
So does that mean I need my clutch replaced or maybe I ride my clutch too much? Because when I brake theres a noise too, so Im thinking it has to do with more than just the clutch.
This is my first car with thats a manual, I learned how to drive stick for the sole purpose of this car, and I dont really believe Im a clutch rider? lol. But of course I woudnt really know.
I just broke up with my bf so typically I would just ask him, but he's not around anymore so I really have no idea what to do.
Is this kind of service covered in my warrenty, do I have to pay the dealership to check it out?
Has anyone else had this problem.

I assume you bought new??? If so, and your car is only 7 months old, then I suggest taking it into the dealer. It will be covered under warranty, and it won't cost you anything for them to look at it. If need be, take the service advisor for a ride-along and point out the noise as you are driving (sometimes easier than explaining it.)
The problem could be just about anything at this point. I actually had a motor mount go bad at 4 months. I noticed the noise more when stopping (just because the engine was quieting down.) I don't know if that's your problem, but have Mini service take a look at it and free yourself from the worries...
Good luck!
