CooperS w/out scoop?

Sorry for not being more specific...

Is there an intercooler relocation kit making it possible to mount a nonS hood?

Pics?

Thanks

Yes it has been done, but I don't have any pics. Just picture an MC hood on an MCS.

Yah just swap out to a water to air intercooler and the hood.

You mean an S hood without the plastic OE scoop? If so yes, but no pics. There is a lot more air available, it 's the control part that needs to be addressed.

Anyone? Is there any aftermarket support for the relocation of an MCS intercooler?

Even with the FMIC you still have the IC horns that need the S hood for clearance.
Until you find a method *cough* Gintani*cough* that removes the IC horns you need the S hood.

Yes, a MC hood, Water to Air intercooler or Front Mount Intercooler. I have only seen one company make a front mount for the MINI and actually sell it. Although I have not heard if it is still made it was $2300 and made by Webb Motorsports.

Gintani Intercooler in reference to obehave

Well you could go custom, which is the only way to go FMIC I think.. and then you could get rid of the stock IC horns..

I looked into this with a local tuner/design shop. Short versionis that doing a air to air FMIC with custom pipieg would probably mean giving up AC function almost completely and tons of fab work. I personally think if you want to go the stealth route the Gintani is the way to go. It's an actual production unit, and would require little "hard" work to make it happen. Talk to WMS though about it, Randy has been running one for some time.
