rear valence - options and install question

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying an '03 MCS which has the Ruge Engineering cat-back on it. In order to install this, the rear valnce, (is that the name?) the part over the stock exhaust pipes that spans approximatly the width of the trunk, was removed.

Question 1 - How it is attached to the rest of the bumper?
(called dealer and he was not able to tell me)

Question 2 - what other options besides the stock do I have for it?

I plan to reinstall the stock exhaust or an after-market one that has factory-like piping and noise levels. Thanks.

This is the first I have ever heard of having to remove the rear Valence/Bumper in order to install a bumper.

You mean exhaust, not bumper, right?

Agreed, this is the first of such exhausts that I have seen.
It's dual muffler exhaust system, but instead of the two pipes coming together in the middle, the two pipes end at each side of the car.
Imagine a Infiniti G35 Coupe or FX or Nissan 350Z... it looks kind of like that.
No, I don't like it.

The rear valence is mostly clip on, I can't remember if the OEM piece had a screw on either side but my aftermarket one did. If you get under you can figure out how to use a flat screw driver to pry it off, tab by tab. I have the blueflame twin exit exhaust, similar to what you're describing. Picture in my gallery if you're interested. In my opinion its the best looking exhaust but its a bit loud and drones somewhat at highway cruise speeds. It has sound dampners, so if it gets too much for me I can tone it down. I've had it for about 18months.
