Alabama MINI sightings: Was it you?

I keep noticing more and more MINI's that must be unaware of our existence here. So let's start a spotting thread and see if we can identify some of these!

Today I saw a Solid Gold / Black Cooper with chrome exterior on Greensprings by the Publix.

Was it you?

I agree with you yucca, there a lot more in the area, I see a red with a white top at Vestavia High School with a custom tag "groucho" if I remember correctly, it doesn't belong to a student it must be the dad, and also around vestavia there is a brown (?) with a black top I believe and it also has a custom tag "minisuv", I have never seen either one of these at our gtg's. Tried to get the red one's attention the other day in carpool, but no luck.

At Publix on Montclair there's a fellow in the Meat dept. who was talking MINIs with me a while back. "Only thing I'd drive" he opened, pointing to my car. He has several, and if I see one with an open parking space next to it (and I need to stop) I'll park next to it and walk the extra yards (last time it was an EB/W, highly chromed checker top "S"). But he doesn't frequent the boards.

Occassionally I'll see one (and when I do, I'll wave).

If ya see one parked be sure to leave a TAG card on their window. If you don't have any TAG cards let me know & I can print you some from my template. I have plenty of blank cards so it will be no biggie

I talked to the fellow at the courthouse yesterday, about a discrepency in my tag fee, and he asked my plate number. "Car84", and he said, "hmm, I saw that the other day..." meaning he'd seen me motoring about. "didn't get an S?" he queried so I went into my litany of personal reasons why...

I think this classifies as a sighting.

I saw 2 today in Gardendale, spoke to one, her name was Jo and she was headed to Florida. I gave her a BAMA sticker, think she said she was from Madison. Also I tagged a BRG S in the K Mart Parking lot in Gardendale this afternoon. I hope folks don't get upset when we leave a card or sticker (not actually stuck) on the windshield or drivers side door.

I was thinking that very same thought about folks getting upset after I left one on the windshield of a purple/black cabrio in the petsmart parking lot on 280 .

I saw the Red Bull MINI a few weeks ago and got a nice big wave from the driver.

I always poke the corner of the card between the driver side window and the rubber seal of the door.

If they are the type to get upset about being invited to have fun with other like-minded people, then are they really the kind of people we want to be hanging out with?

Thats sweet, but I can print 'em and save you the ink, that stuff is more expensive than gas. I just thought there may be a template already in place.

I'll design one and share it with the class. I've done logo's/calligraphy and such for years. The NAM logo doesn't really pertain to my Mini so I'll come up with one. Thanx a bunch.

No prob but I really don't mind printing you up some if you like. There is a template but it is on my computer & in the Avery format so I can't post it on NAM. I have plenty of blank business cards & I don't use the NAM logo on the cards, I personalize them with everyones cartoon Mini & NAM screen name.

You can make your own "business" cards FOR FREE on www.vistaprint.com. Granted you have to use one of their logos, but can have a lot of your own text. I had some printed up to tag Mini's with!

It's easy to download the free software from Avery & you can insert any personal artwork that you like on your business or TAG cards

Parrish Blue, I have added a MS Word Tagged Card link on the website. Its under LINKS, then at the bottom you will see the tagged card link. It will open under MS Word. Fill free to change any of it for your needs.
Hope this helps

Yes, I'm almost always parked at the meter on 13th steet off of University. I'd rather pay to park every day than get my doors dinged in a student lot.
