Does Dinan Do Discounts?

Does Dinan ever do promotions or incentives to sell products? Do MINI dealers ever offer free installation or anything like that? Just curious.

I'm curious about this too. I've been considering going Dinan. I like the fact they've had a relationship with BMW and now MINI. My understanding is their warrantied through BMW/MINI dealerships - which is nice. Someone please correct this if I'm wrong.

Some Discounts would certainly be a good incentive for me to make a decision.

Do not mistake Dinan for JCW or other sanctioned MINI product. Dinan, while working with MINI/BMW offers warranty on their product only. If it comes down to it, your local MINI service may treat your Dinan as an aftermarket item, which it is. I have the S1 upgrade and will probably add some more soon, but am very clear on the fact that this is the same as getting a mix and match aftermarket system. For me I like the fact that their software is specifically paired with the hardware to work as a system. It's not cheap, but I feel that I'm paying for this seamlessness. I did a little research and to get the top shelf aftermarket items in a mixed array was within a couple hundred, but there was no guarantee that all the items would work together. With Dinan, they warranty their work as far as it is a perfomance package. I know there are many on this forum who believe it is overpiced, but I would suggest, if you have the money, do this. If you have similar money and are worried about warranty, go JCW. In the end thoough, I am happy with Dinan as far as their powertrain products go. I am saving up for the next upgrade which includes a pulley redux, throttle body and fuel management to compensate for increased boost. If you want suspension help, go somewhere else.

Sorry, went OT, as far as discounts. MINI/BMW SF has a flier out for packages with install that I would consider competitive for the bay area anyway. I think Dinan is used to selling to rich BMW owners and has underestimated the MINI owners' abilities in modding their own cars.

Up until about a year ago, MINI of Sterling was a sponser of the MINI forum on Roadfly, and offered a Roadfly discount similar to Classic MINI here on NAM -- about 20% off parts. MINI of Sterling is also a Dinan dealer and at the time extended the same discount to Dinan parts. I don't know whether they still do this, but it is an example that discounts may be available from individual dealers.

With respect to warranty, when a dealer both sells and installs an aftermarket item, it is very typical that the dealer will warranty it (but don't expect a different dealer to honor it).

Long post coming up on this issue when I get back but my experience is Dinan and other MINI dealers WILL NOT warrant all issues (more on this later), so F%$ em, I'll go M7 or Helix and get better engineered and cheaper products. More to follow.

^^^Interesting....can't wait to read more!

I do agree 100% with RKW's statement: "With respect to warranty, when a dealer both sells and installs an aftermarket item, it is very typical that the dealer will warranty it (but don't expect a different dealer to honor it)."

I will keep an eye out for a discount. Something like free installation or a blowout sale or ANYTHING would put me over the edge to spend a couple bucks.
