XM Help!

I have a 2005 Mini S with HK and I just got XM http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pitr7j8...0&I=040SA10162 for my birthday. What do I need to connect it to the stereo? I would prefer to go straight into the stereo instead of FM modulation and obviously there is no cassette adapter (which I wouldnt want any way). I would also like to charge by some other means then the cig lighter. Bottom line I need connectivity and limited visable cables. Thanks.

Well, you got the wrong thing

You need xmdirect (like here http://www.logjamelectronics.com/terkxmdirect.html) and a Blitzsafe Adapter. Just do a search on blitzsafe and you will find many threads on how to install it.

No, he can use the SkyFi. I use the roady2 in my mini. Now I don't have Nav in my car, but I believe you will still need the AUX input. It hooks into the back of the stereo (super easy install in a non-NAV mini) and then the XM audio cable hooks right into it. Now in regards to the power use an add-a-fuse and then you can add another power module. I have mine hidden and it always powers the XM.

You can install it and hide the cables well. The XM direct installs in the boot like a CD changer. All cables are hidden in this install. Now I personally prefer my roady though some people prefer the XM direct.
