R50/53 Your speed in said gear?
I'm sure someone has a guideline for this... it really all depends on whether you're redlining the tach or just shifting at 3,000 RPMs like I typically do when driving conservatively to save gas. (I pull 30mpg these days with my MCS).
Its all there and is not going to change based on any mods other than gearing mods
Kind of flirting with the prohibition about threads concerning street racing. Make sure we're talking about on the track here.

Here ya go, this is based on memory, didn't run a test and jot down numbers.
2006 MCS no mods.
1: 0-10, 15 if in a rush
2: 5-20, 25 if in a rush
3: 15-30
4: 25-45
5: 35-55
6: 47-75
Lower gear if going uphill, higher gear if going downhill.
It actually comes down to what RPMs I'm shooting for.
Mad scramble to reach speed limit: 3000-4500 rpm
Just drivin' along: 2200-3100 rpm
Driving up a hill: 2500-3500 rpm
Bumbling through parking lots: 1400-2000 rpm

I disagree Chowsie...with the GIAC ECU reflash my redline was raised. I can do 60 in 2nd gear in my Cooper. I'll just leave it at that, since I haven't been to the track to test anything above that, although Eric at Helix had it around 102 MPH in 4th on the dyno when testing the effects of the car being chipped.

You changed the rules
Changing sw is not bolt-on mods. I guess I should have been more specific.Sure, you raise the RPM limiter, you may go faster in any gear ... however, that does not mean you will accelerate any faster ... at the top of the RPM range you are on the down side of the torque curve and acceleratation follows the torque curve.

True, but it's not as bad as you might think:

I could probably get a few more MPH out of it if I held on until 7200, but I don't want to push the Cooper 1.6 too far (Jim! She's a MINI Cooper not a Starship!)
