The 07 seats- options?

Just thinking that IF the R56's seats are a marked improvement on the old style, and if the leather version is available in some color options, what are the chances of them being fitted into my 06 MCS?

I've got sports with grey cloth now, pretty nice but not spectacular.... If I was going to do a leather upgrade it would be nice to put the new sculptured ones in.

What are your thoughts and comments about the new seats? Oh yeah, then there is the matter of cost.... I have no idea what a new pair of seats would run.

Since they're not out yet...so no one would actually know for sure...there's still a VERY small chance that these could be easily swapped into an '06.

I seem to remember hearing somthing about increased footroom in the rear under the seats... suggesting to me an increase in the with of the seat mounting rails, or the track underneath. So my guess is, no. Won't work.

Color options are a litte different, too:

Or they've raised the seats, making for less headroom.

I'm getting nervous that they've lost headroom.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Granted, I'm going from memory here, but the way I seem to remember it it mentioned lateral footspace (as well as increased kneeroom with the new seat backs). I took note of it 'cause I've sat in the rear of a couple MINIs... and though knee room seems OK for me (for such a compact car) my flippers just BARELY fit together under the current seat rails.

If they change the rails then it's not going to work, is it...

msh441:

thanks for the pic of the various interior choices. I did like the look of the new seats as shown in the edmunds review... kind of a classic look to them.
