I'm running 17x8 ET40 (Compomotive MO) w/215/45/17 on a stock MC suspension without any issues. They are pushed right to the edge of the fender flares, so I imagine if it was lowere it would rub. See my gallery for photos. I also have photos in there of BBS RX 17x7.5 ET35 w/215/45/17 so maybe that'll give you an idea.

I think it will rub, but depends on how low u are going for. I'm running 16*7 with et35 offset, with R tires 195/50/16. So my sidewall is a bit taller and wider then 205, but I still get a little rubbing at the back. But with 17*8 et35 and 225, I think u will bump into a lot of issues.

Check out my thread... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=81042

i'll do another thread with pics of the rims, but...

Those are 17x8 +45 offset with 235/40 S-03's...

I am not rubbing at all on the inner fender in the front or rear.

There's probably about 3-6 mm of space between the front strut and my tire when the wheel is turned to full lock. I'll get u a pic...

The rear is rubbing on the outer fender liner, just behind the lip.... actually it's barely touched the lip too....

So my guess is, going to a +35 offset would be TREMENDOUSLY aggressive, and would in my opinion be sticking out like one of those beaner frog mobiles....

But, I love seeing new boundries pushed. You never know till you try.

Sounds like you got them nearby. Why not mount them and see what happens?

defenitely, lots and lots of euro guys mount insane wide wheels on narrower tires in an effort to get the stretched look, extreme stretching can wear out the sidewall, but a small amount of stretching cna stiffen sidewall and create better steering response...

as for rubbing, yes, stock height you might be okay when the car's travelling with low load, but when loaded its probaly going to rub...

I am running that size rim w/ 215 40 Goodyear Eagle F1 D3's lowered to the max using Coil overs and did rub fender lips on the front and liner in the rear. Had to cut back the fender liners in the rear and let the tires trim the front. After a few twisties and off ramps the front no longer rubs. I let the rear liners get rubbed to guage where to cut the problem areas away. its fine now but now and then when I get real agressive the fronts will touch. Oh by the way the car does not have the "beaner" look in fact the wheel wells are very nicely filled and gives a nice looking stance.

Have a GREAT day !!

So you are running 35 offset? I have H-sports and kinda hope 17x7 35 will run ok.

Hey Mister Danger pants

Im planning on getting 17X8 CCW with offset of 40 with 215/45/17/stock suspension, any good clearance with brembo brakes or any clearence issues? Any rim poking? Any Rubbing issues if 2 people sit in the Back?
Does the wheel stick out?
Would appreciate your feedback
Thank you
Carl
