AM radio reception sucks around High Power lines

Is it just me or do other MINI owners find this happens to them too?

I've an '06 MCS Cabriolet and if I pass beneath high power electrical lines, the AM radio reception goes completely static.

Others the same?

More info: I've the Harmon Kardon radio.
(Comparatively, I get just fine AM reception in these exact same locations with my Jeep or a BMW so this is not just about AM not working well around power lines.)

I've never driven a car that the AM has not been affected by high power electrical lines like the ones running from power stations. It's a normal thing with AM.

AM radio? What's that?

Can't you just listen to your 8-tracks instead? Well, gotta go, I just taped Knight Rider on my BetaMax.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It was too easy. I'm a jerk...
