Colored Wheels? Not B/W

I am thinking about colored wheels. Somewhere on here I saw a blue Mini w/ orange wheels. I think it really popped because they are complimentary colors (opposite each other on the color wheel - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, red, etc. - don't mean to insult anyone, but I'm not sure how commonly this color stuff is known). So, for me complimentary would be red, but some other combinations might look good too. I would appreciate seeing pictures of anyone's Mini with wheels that are other than black, white, silver, gray, bronze - not just red but any color. I'm especially interested in wheels that are a combination of a color & chrome.

Thanks for posting the pic oldschool...my husband has been trying to convince me to paint my soon-to-be autocross wheels red. Now I can see what he was talking about. I wasn't too sure myself...it does look good.

The HB MCS with orange wheels belongs to Will, as in Will from M7. There is a thread about them on here somewhere.

My wheels are black with a red lip, I love them. I posted a pic in the wheels thread.

His are powdercoated which is really durable and not terribly expensive. Mine are painted though because it's only part of the wheel that had color added, not the entire thing.

It's not that hard to find red wheels though. Not as easy as black or silver but not impossible. Kinda depend on what style wheel you like as to if you can buy it that way or have to get them custom done.

Go for it. I spray painted mine with orange/red high temp engine paint.

Not red, but not in your reject color list either. I personally can't stand gold colors, but IMHO gold wheels look great on BRG cars like yours.

Sorry I can't tell you anything about this car. This photo was taken at the Monterey Historic races to taunt NetHack into a wheel upgrade. I'm sure others could give more info if you're interested in going this direction.

IMHO... Bavarian Racing Green with yellow rims, and yellow bonnet stripes. Not Gold as in Speednut's example. Takes me back to the Cooper F1 team.

Thanks, y'all. I hadn't thought about just painting them - whole lot cheaper than new wheels and no issues about will it all fit back together. Hmmmm. 'Course red w/ chrome might look better than red with the silver wheels I've got. I'm gonna go to Cruisin' the Coast Saturday and look at wheels.

Something Like this?

Here are JennB's awesome wheels, too.

So you definately don't have to go with the "normal" type colors, and the MINI lends itself very well to interesting combos.

I really dig em both but I wonder if the blue/red rims would look better w/ red mirror caps?

They aren't red, they are actually a very sparkly orange.

Those are some awesome wheels. Tell me more about them. Noticed they aren't in your gallery, so are they a past thing or too new?
