Triangle events?

Hello...

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Triangle area VP. I currently live in Hillsborough, NC and spend a lot of time in the Triad area as well. I would like to continue the great things that Chris did in the past and expand the get-togethers once a month or so to those that are interested.

Who would be interested in getting together in the Triangle for lunches, dinners (supper), or plain socialization. What would we like to do? Any suggestions for an initial planning event? Anyone from the Triad that might be interested in joining us?

I will try to "poll the audience" for the first event, and from there we can expand onto further events.

Thanks!

David P. Wilson

Congrats! I'm always up for a road trip, just post your events and I'm sure a few of us will make it up...especially, as Luke said, if it's a Sat event <hint hint ;-) >

Good Morning.

Just wanted to follow up with the original post. Do we just have people interested in coming up from Charlotte (well, Fayetteville too). To those people located in the Triad and Triangle, what are you interested in doing???? I just want to be that catalyst to spur something!

I'm over in Raleigh, and would be interested in any events that may come up nearby. I have only had my mcs a few weeks, so I am just getting revved up so to speak. Any excuse to get on the road makes me and my little friend Sprocket happy, hehe

Hi guys - I'm game - once I actually HAVE my Mini...
Been on order since Aug. 1 - got delayed a bit due to the VIN fiasco...
But it's in Charleston now and (hopefully) I'll have it in a week or so...
Which is lucky since I have a garage full of boxes of bling, detailing supplies, etc. waiting for it... :-)

BTW - I'm in Holly Springs, just southwest of Raleigh.

I had been looking for a good while for the right color/package combo and price. Eventually one popped up at Carmax, so I got it there. I have already been to Flow Mini in Winston-Salem to pick up a 2nd key. Silly Carmax ordered the non-remote key, so I really didn't have to go the 200 miles roundtrip. But it was definately a fun drive... I'm amazed at the zip this little guy has hehe.

If you don't mind me asking...I need a second key for mine. How much was the extra key (if you know, I am sure you got Carmax to spot it), and what info did you have to give flow to get the extra key (VIN?)

Dave

The basic key is $41 and some change. I asked the counter rep at Flow about the price of the master keys, and he said they are around $130 (If I understand correctly, you would have to get a reprogram if you get another remote key) Carmax set up the appointment and paid for the key I got, so I'm not sure what info they gave mini. I talked to the Carmax person and they explained the procedure briefly. Apparently they contacted New Jersey to get one of the keys sent to the dealer (most likely having to give them the VIN, then set up an appointment with Flow for me. The thing is the non remote keys don't seem to need any programming at all it seems so they really didn't need the car at the dealership. This may be different if you have an alarm installed I suppose. Other than that I gave no info to Flow at all, just went in and picked up the key.

Thanks for the information! I am the bright individual that decided once to store the keys right over the trash can, duhhhh, and now I can not find the second key.

Since we have some events coming up in the next few weeks, I was wondering if everyone would like to get together for a lunch on Saturday the 28th? Does anyone have any suggestions? The first thing that pops into my head would be Frankies on Hwy. 70 on the N. side of Raleigh. They have go-karts, as well as other fun-park thingeys...but, they also have a restaurant inside as well. How does that weekend sound?

I would also suggest that if there are other individuals interested in the Zaino clinic, that we meet and drive on down to C-lotte. Just a couple of things that I have up in my head.

Any suggestions!

Dave

Hi all! I'm in Raleigh and got my MC from Flow just over two weeks ago. I'm pretty busy for the remaining weekends in October, but I'd be interested in hearing about future events. Also, does anyone in the Triangle area know of a reputable place to have my windows tinted? I'm new to the area and don't really know where all the good places are yet. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Doodlez

Hey Doodlez (has a nice ring to it!)

I had my windows done at the Lexus dealership on Capital Blvd. They have two different tints that you can choose from (well back then they did) basically a dark and a lighter version from Huper Optik, i think. They did a wonderful job, and it has performed wonderfully. Just my two cents.

I will begin a new thread for the event on the 28th for those that are interested. As always, I am open for any suggestions (i.e. different weekend due to Halloween or something like that).

Thanks

Dave
