JCW Engine upgrade kit, does that include a NEW JCW Supercharger?
...or do they just retrofit the JCW upgrades to the standard supercharger on the S? Who know the answer to that question?
From what I can tell, the 02-04 models have a different model supercharger than the 05-06 models. So the 02-04 JCWs get a supercharger upgrade, while the 05-06 JCWs just get the new pulley (plus headers, intake, exhaust, etc).
Well, you'd probably know better than I. I've heard diff things.
It's very easy:
JCW-200PS:
- coated 5th Gen. Supercharger 58mm Pulley
- modified cylinder head
- exhaust
- badges
- JCW-software (200HP)
JCW-210PS:
+ 380cc injectors
+ jcw air filter housing and filter element
+ JCW-software (210HP)
You get every time a new supercharger, it doesn't matter what supercharger you currently have. BMW does not change pulleys because of warranty !

I could be mistaken but I thought the 06's MCS all had the same supercharger. Could anyone clarify this for me.

Prior to 7/2004 the supercharger was "only" 4th generation and therefor was not coated. The JCW-kit had the 5th generation supercharger as upgrade.
After 7/2004 the supercharger was coated, therefor 5th generation, but with the standard pulley. The JCW-kit uses the 5th gen supercharger again, but only with a smaller pulley.

Edited. NM, your correct. I had 04 JCW and it had the upgraded SC. Correct.

The coating, well.... i switched from uncoated to coated some time ago. I did not notice any boost increasement !
I think the coating is good for that the hot compressed air does not flow back between the shovels. Some tuners here in Germany did some tests and they said that in low rpm, i.e. 3000rpm, there is little more boost available.

It's
IT's a coating that is put on the rotors that wears away during initial use to get tighter tolerences. It reduces leakage around the rotors and is good for a few % in boost increase.

Everything I've heard up to this point says that the JCW pulley is 14.7%.
Well, I have both here in front of me ! Standard is 65mm and JCW is 58mm... now calculate for yourself.
Over here in Germany we always messure in mm and not in percent. So we avoid any mistakes by calculating. JCW has always been 58mm, we measured several from when the kit startet to now.
