I'm back.........

So it's official...........I got in my order yesterday for an '06........I had one of the first MCSs in CT back in July '02, LY Sport Package (see my gallery), but made the mistake of getting rid of it when my daughter was born-thought it wouldn't work out for our transportation needs. In hindsight I see that it would have been fine.

But, my daugther's 2 now, and she loves MINIs-everytime we see one she yells "MINI!". In fairness, it's because I do this too, and she's at that mimicking age, but she definately recognizes them.

So, I ordered an '06 MCS (went through some teething pains with my '02 (and my daughter ) and don't want that with an R56. HB/HB, 6MT, Premium, Sport w/ Web Spokes, Cold Weather, LSD, Black Leatherette, Anthracite Dash, Anthracite Headliner, Rear Fog......can't wait!

Welcome back to the family

My wife is also pregnant and due next month with our first baby boy. We both own MINIs ('05 MCS and '02 MC) and neither car is going anywhere. We already have all the MINI "approved" baby gear and we should be fine.

I don't subscribe to the mentallity: Baby = SUV or minivan...

Congrats on your daughter and new MINI

Thanks! My dealer (New Counrty in Hartford, CT) said they've been pretty much seeing 6 weeks or less lately with the rollback in production. Some even in 4 weeks......

I love seeing threads like this!

Welcome back and thanks for the encouragement....because I plan on keeping Mini when/if babies come...because I know it can be done and can be safe.

The Britax Roundabout is the only baby car seat that fits perfectly in the MINI, both forward and rear facing. In rear facing mode, it doesn't even touch the back of the front passenger seat.

We have all the gear needed. We spent quite a bit of time researching here and in MINI2.com from other MINI owners with babies.

Like I said, we should be fine. My wife wants to get a new MINI Clubman wagon when they come out in early 2008.

Welcome back. That HB will be awesome with the anthracite HL & Int. Whenever I am with other people in a car and see a Mini, I do the "Mini!" thing too.

Although I don't need rear facing anymore, I was wondering if you knew how the Britax Marathon will fit in the MINI. I had a Roundabout when Maddie was born, but switched it out for a Marathon which will be good til she hits 60lbs, vs 40 for the Roundabout. At almost three years old she's barely 30lbs, but I probably would have needed something else anyway before she could use a booster seat......

Do you have a wife yet?

If not, you can add that badge to your sig as well- "Not quite Married" Club .

It's a car that transcends age, probably more than any other car ever. I used to get stopped by senior citizens to ask about it, and kids always get excited by it too.
