Going to order an 06 S, what options do I have to have

My dealer has allocations for about 10 more 06's I don't want to spend to much, so I'm trying to keep the options to a minimum. Here is what I plan on getting. Performance Pkg., LSD, Winter Pkg., & Cruise control.
Is the upgraded radio worth the extra 500? Any other suggestions?

Thanks for you help, I'm going to order it on Saturday.

I will go with the radio option, also the rear fog light looks very nice and it is not that expensive.

rear fogs to fill your toggle switch panel...other than that, i think the options you already have in mind are great additions. before you go with the HK
, search around for the arguments for/against it on NAM. there are quite a few that say its not worth the money

The options you have picked sound great. I have most options with the exception of the rear fog light and I wish I had it.

I have the HK. I think it sounds great, I would add that to your list.

I dislike the rear fog's looks on dark metallics but all others its cool. 1 less toggle isnt life or death but red dot on a green bumper was to me distracting. It works really well in fog though for cars behind you. I just put on my flashers or sit on the side of the road and smoke my briar wood pipe if fog is that bad.

I tacked on HK at the last minute before production started. I was in one car during the begining of the order selection that must have had settings off/messed up/someone fried something. It sounded like crap. Then the MA put me another week in a car with factory settings on the HK and put in Driver Mode ( i think that balances it based upon driver seating) Well, I was blown away by a 550 dollar option. Its awesome.

I like Chrome a whole lot. I got anthracite interior dash, extra 200 for the headliner (should be free option), and chromeline interior. I also got chromeline exterior.

What colour are you getting? I got anthracite headliner as the car I bought is BRG/BRG (all british racing green). It matches the dark colors nicer I thought. I am a morbid guy though. I enjoy death. yay!

Actually, I am looking for a sickly green led and cathod setup for the car's interior. side note though.

That sounds like a great combo! In fact, thats exactly what I would've gotten if I had the funds to do so. Instead I got cruise control, xenon's and the cold weather package, all of which I love to death.

Personally I'd lose both the packages. S-lites are anything but lite and sporty. If you really want dsc and xenons get them seperately, same with bonnet stripes. You'll save few hundred bucks. Cruise, LSD(if you plan on tracking at all) and fogs are all I'd get. And Depending on your color choice the anthra headliner.

I was goign to say this!

Also, with s-lites, he should get strut tower reinforcement plates from M7 tuning. Major suspension killers those things are. Some might like the look though. I did all my options ala carte except cold weather package. If he wants s-lites though he saves money if he gets the package.

I'm going with Dark Silver with a black roof no bonnet strips. What is the anthracite headliner? Silver and black Leatherete seats.

You should REALLY get the anthracit headliner. Take a trip to mini dealer and look at the colour of the interior after door level. the posts that hold up the roof and the ceiling are very light gray. almost a silverberry gray, for those that paint Now, on a PW, a yellow, or light silver, that really is not noticable. The reason for the non anthracite top section of the interior as standard is that psychologically, people feel less trapped and more open in a room with dark on the bottom and light on the top. 200 dollars changes this. For you, it would match your exterior the best actually. You would notice it if you see it. Dealers do not get this option on floor models as most people dont even notice the light color until they have driven it a while, or see an anthracite one. My friends all wheel drive 06 Lexus sportster has very dark interior and a really really really ugly ultra light gray headliner. They even do it to more expensive vehicles. It is to negate the feeling of less headroom.

For you, I would put on some sort of bonnet striping! You do not have to, but it would look great. On brg, most stripping looks less integrated, but your roof is black and your car has no colour on it. (dark silver isnt a colour really, royal gray might be as it has brown, and tints of gold in it, from the photo's at least)

I have been into art and done it as a job for a long time. I am more into looks than other aspects of the car. I negated the rear fog light on my car, I wouldnt ever put it on a dark gray car. That would look like an eyesore to me. It is MUCH bigger than it used to be when it was a back-up light on earlier models. and blatantly red. If it was clear or amber, it wouldnt matter as much.

So is the Anthracit headliner black or dark gray? Also would you go with the all black interior or the gray and black leatherete?

I'll have to listen to the stock HK stereo and the upgraded one and make a
decision.

Can one still order a '06?

I know that '07s are on the production line as we speak!

It's neither, it's anthracite, guess you could say it's DARK gray. Check the pic. The interior is anthracite, cept the dash panel which is piano black. But most of the interior is Anthracite, included what's listed as black leatherette, it's not really black, it's the same color as the rest of the interior. If you don't get the anthra headliner starting at the A-Pillars all the way up the interior turns a color simliar to the gray(the gray in this pic, which isn't representative of how it looks on the steering wheel in real life, it's more silverish) circle on the steering wheel.

And if you don't want stripes I'd definitely lose the sport package and get what you want a la carte.

Don't waste $100 for the rear fog light - instead spend $20 later and make it work as a third backup light.

Have you thought about getting a clear bra? I wish I had ordered one with mine. It's not easy to get a good install in the aftermarket. They're definitely worth it, if you want to protect your car from rock chips.
