Picture request - OEM SIRIUS

Hey guys,

I've ordered all the parts I need for the OEM Sirius install and the OEM iPod adapter. The theory being that I can use the pass-through on the Sirius receiver to hook up the iPod adapter (whether or not this will actually work remains to be seen, as I don't have the parts in-hand yet and haven't talked to anyone who has tried it).

I've read all the instructions on motoringfile for the Sirius install, and I'm going to take the whole she-bang over to my audio guy to have him put it in (I'm guessing he'll want around $150, and the parts cost me around $450, so $600 is much preferred to the $1000+ it would cost to have the dealer do both installs). However, after reading the instructions I still don't have a real clear mental picture of the area in the boot where the Sirius box goes. I'm assuming, that because of the pass-through deal, that I will have to keep the iPod back there with the Sirius box. Is this just an area that is covered with some sort of pop-off cover? Or is it something that's nuts-and-bolts and I would be better off to have him reroute the cable to the iPod back out to the glovebox or something? I don't mind the iPod being in the boot as long as I can get to it relatively easily (pop-off cover or something similar) to get it in and out. But if it's something that I'm going to have to bust out a wrench, then I'll have him reroute it.

So to make a long story short, what I'm looking for is photos that show the area that the Sirius box goes in, and what it's covered with and how easy it is (or not) to get into.

Thanks!

First question is - do you have the H/K option? The install location is completely different (opposite side) depending on whether or not you have the H/K.

Also, you said you "ordered all the parts I need"... but did you actually install the SIRIUS Install Kit? It has its own part number (for the whole kit) and contains parts needed, including a mounting bracket.

If you DO have the H/K, I will take a pic for you of my install. If you don't, you'll want to get a pic from someone else who doesn't

I don't have the H/K. And I did order the install kit. I understand that the box goes in the passenger side, yes? Is it just the carpet that covers the area?

I don't have a picture, but I did the sirius install myself. The reciever goes in the boot on the passenger side behind the plastic "door". It has carpeting on it, and has two clips on top. Simple install. Good luck.

So how hard is it to get to that area? Is it a place I could keep my iPod (maybe in a case?)?

Thanks! Yeah, I don't have it yet (three weeks to go) but I want to take the instructions down to my audio guy so he can give me a quote, but I want to have a reasonably good idea of what he's looking at so he can be accurate.

Do you have to remove the interior panels to get the Sirius unit in or can the work be done through the access panel?
