Is the 06 HK stereo different from earlier model years?
I have the Monster iCruze, and I had it professionally installed in my 06 MCS with HK sound. It works, but not perfectly. If I'm playing a song that has a really high recording level (or a loud part in the song), the head unit stops recognizing the iCruze, and it switches over to the radio. It's very frustrating.
I contacted Monster about this issue, and they won't even help me because they say that the iCruze won't work with the 06 model. I read these forums for several weeks before buying the iCruze, and I was not even remotely aware that the 06 head unit was any different from the 02-05 systems that Monster supports. Is there really a difference, or does Monster just not know what they're talking about?
Also, if it's not due to the model year difference, then does anyone have any clues about why the iCruze is behaving this way?

p.s. Sorry for posting this twice; I wasn't getting any responses, and I was worried that it was because my thread title was awkwardly worded.

When you have the iCruze selected on the HU, does it say AUX? If so, you probably need a ground loop isolator. Just do a search on that and you will get plenty of posts on what is happening and how to fix it.
I'm aware of the problem you mention, but the mode is not in AUX when the iCruze is in use; it's in disc changer mode.
My main question is, is the 06 HU different from the 05? I don't feel that Monster is justified in not supporting this device if I can prove that there's no difference in the HU.

Oh, I see. I wasn't aware of how the iCruze interfaced with the HU. I know in the UK, the HU changed with the 06 models, but I haven't seen a US spec 06. The CD Changer interface shouldn't have changed as it's a BMW standard, but you never know with these things.
Try calling them back and saying you have an 05. It could simply be a well known problem with the iCruze itself.
