Cutting wire clips off rear brake pads

While doing my rear brakes I went to mount the new pads...I had to leave the piston out enough to fit those wires in, and when I did so I couldn't get the caliper back on over the rotor. So I cut the wires off; I can just see myself ripping the rubber boots trying to get those wires in there and I don't need that aggravation, especially as this is primarily a track car.

Anyone else do away with those clips?

Gary

Gary,
I have never had any problem at all with those clips and I've changed my pads about 20 times at least.
Your pads will problably chatter when not under braking laod.
