Just wondering if we will be able to order the base naturally aspirated engine when the 2007's come out in the states? I have a 2005 Cooper now and am really intrested in the added fuel economy but don't want the turbocharger.

 

I have no idea, and I'm not sure we've heard yet, but I'm thinking...yes it will. The MINI One was not available here, but then it's fuel economy was no greater than the Cooper. Our fuel formulations was (I hope) the reason we didn't get the One-D.

I think if fuel economy is your thing (as it is mine) you'll be well taken care of.

 

and other contries, there can be quite the insurance premium for higher power cars. Here in the US we see gutless as worthless. That's why the one isn't here.

But the Cooper will be NA.

From what I've heard the "base" engine in the US will be the 120 hp naturally aspirated version standard in the Cooper. If the preliminary reports are correct there will be a nice increase in fuel economy.
