Phil Wicks MINI Cooper Challenge - 30 October - Buttonwillow
Are any of you folks attending this? We are coming down from Sacramento on the 29th and staying at Buttonwillow Super 8, and planning a dinner that night at the Wool Growers Basque restaurant in Bakersfield, and attendance at the races on Monday at Buttonwillow Speedway. We would love to meet up with other MINI drivers for this.
It is only $5 admission, unless you want to drive a few laps on the track, then it costs $25 per car.
Phil Wicks will also be conducting a driving academy, if any of you want to earn your Racing license. The school is $300.
This is a series of ALL MINI races. There will be qualifying in the morning, parade laps at lunch, and racing in the afternoon.

Actually I'm seriously considering making the trip because I missed signing up for the class held at Laguna Seca. I want to pay the $300 for some track time+instruction, but I need to get a helmet. Let me know if more are interested. I'm out of Soledad (Monterey County).
Hey, we'll see ya there Sando! We will be staying at the Super 8 in Buttonwillow. Are you interested in going to dinner with us in Bakersfield at the world famous Sheep Growers Basque restaurant?
Sando,
I'm planning being there as well. They have a limited # of helmet's that you can rent for $25 per day. Also check out this link for a discount.
See you there......

Just found out my front right suspension is nearly toast(i've been putting it off) so repair job may prohibit me from going to this event-but never say never. I just upgraded brakes and they are SWEEET. If I go, dinner would be great. I'll keep u posted.
I'm not driving out this year guys.
Ya'll have fun.
Maybe I'll mail someone my Casper bobble head so you can take him around the track. He's a pretty good instructor. Just watch his head. Up and down means you got it right. Side to side means you need to work on it some more.
