Looking to get some stripes...where to go

Hi All!

I'm looking at getting some stripes installed on my Mini and I'm not sure where to go! I'm a little hesitant to go to the dealer because of their high labor prices. I'm getting a silver U shaped stripe put on the boot to match my bonnet (thanks to Mike at Aestheticreations.net), and some silver stripes for the sides... I was quoted 264.00 install at an autobody shop here in Joliet but that seems a little high to me! Plus they were talking about removing the boot panel to do the graphic install and that made me a little nervous... Any suggestions on where I could go for a good deal in the burbs'

A lot of people are trying sign shops for installs; on the otherhand, mine were installed by Ziebart [they have a guy in Dayton, OH, who does good work].

Kenosha shop...

Hi,

I talked to John Gaddy at the last Milwaukee Minis get-together. His shop is located in Kenosha. There is a thread listing his contact information here:

I saw John's work first hand (he does his own mods obviously); looks really nice...

I'm also going to do some new striping. Purchased my racing stripes from Cooperflags. They had a recommendation for the Chicago area, JPD GRAPHICS, Elk Grove Village, 847-350-0414. He quoted me about $60.00 an hour. My dealer, Knauz in Lake Bluff, said around $200.00 because I'm doing bonnet and boot. I'm leaning toward my dealer, at least I'll have a guarantee. Good luck........LY/B MC 2002

Just do them yourself. It is not that tough. When you apply vinyl wet is is EASY to move them around and hit the right spot.

No thanks...I'd rather have a professional do it than risk damaging and then having to re-buy my decals..
