need to make fogs stay on

Hi, I have the top bumper fogs and the little round flush mounts lights underneath . I would like to be able to use the stock toggle that turns on the little round flush mounts to power up both sets independant of the headlight function. There must a relay that cuts out the small rfm's when the highbeams come on, where is it located and how do I defeat it? The top bumper fogs,(maybe they are driving lights ) come on only with the high beams.

Thank Ian Cull (GBMINI) for this :-)

Might not address your entire issue but his circuit will make your fogs come on with the headlights.

I have thought about this as well...I love my driving lights (or as you call top bumper fogs) But I never end up using them due to the fact that I have to drive with the rights on........I came the to conclusion that it would take a decient ammount of wireing.....I didn't feel like messing with wireing on my baby....after all it does have british in its blood and we all know what happens when you start to mess with a bitish cars electrical system!

Hi, I just thought someone had gone down this path and I could learn from their mistakes. It looks as though I have to make my own .

Most anyone I know of that does this has done it to aftermarket systems that come with their own wiring harness. Something to note, they are NOT fog lights and they are NOT aimed as such, if you rina round with them on you will blind anyone in front of you and if you use them in fog they are high enought that you will generally only end up with more reflection than anything else. But I DO understand the want to have them seperate from the highbeams. If I were in your shoes I'd head over to Motoringfile.com and get the PDF of the factory Driving light install you'll need to ake the wire that ties into the high beams and relocate it, to where I'm not sure off the top of my head.

Hi, Thanks I'll try to locate a parking light wire to take the place of the high beam trip.

see my thread and post here:

This is a very nice fix and allows for both OEM function of the fogs and for a complete computer bypass which means they will Always be on...Even with the high beams.
