I've searched and read through every thread involving installing something under either seat to no avail (looked on MINI2 forum as well).

I need to know the dimensions of the floor cavities under each seat. Can anyone who has this info please post it? From the pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like it's the same on each side. All I found in my search was the dimensions of one of the foam inserts which may or may not be the exact dimensions of the cavity. One cavity (RH side) looked deeper while the LH side cavity looks like the depth varies.

Can anyone help?

i'm guessing he is looking at putting some stereo equipment in. A sat reciever will fit under the passenger but is tight....I've seen very nice jobs of them mounted under the glove compartment as it is recessed there...additionally if you don't mind the distance - the little side bin in the rear boot (opposite side but same location as the MINI tool kit) works great.

Well, I know that under the passenger seat's carpet there's a styrofoam placeholder if you don't get the Nav option. I assume you could put a decent size amp in there.

I saw a pic of it on some thread, but don't know where. try searching for styrofoam (sp?)

I saw that thread, but I don't know if the insert completely fills the cavity. I also saw a picture of the opposite cavity with a TV tuner installed in it, and that cavity looked bigger (deeper, and without a slope).

I just want to know exactly what space I'll have to work with before mine arrives.
