I picked up my MCS a couple of months ago. I bought a roof rack (Thule) using the auto-build feature on their website. I wanted the rack because I enjoy both mountain biking and skiing, and the MINI is my only car, so I needed a solution for those hobbies. I thought the OEM rack was too much money.

However, the directions that come with the Thule rack are leaving me clueless. I've never owned a roof rack before, so this is the first time I'm dealing with it. Do you know if there are alternate (more detailed) directions out there for installation? I'm not having any luck finding any.

Also, I feel like when I am clamping the feet onto the roof that when one foot is tightened, it loosens up the roof on the other side. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd hate to damage my roof inadvertently because I'm not following the directions properly. I love this MINI and I don't know what I'd do if I damaged it trying to put the rack on.
