i dont want to drive 4 hours to a mini dealer to buy the transmission fluid for a cvt. Ive a dealer to work on the car but i need the fluid. Anyone ever hear of Santotrac cvt fluid for minis?
if anyone lives close to a dealer and would like to get some and ship it to me id be ecstatic!

Try different Mini dealers, or go through a Mini specialist like Moss or Mini Mania.

 

Well, the reason the dealers won't ship to him is that they buy in bulk and you have to bring in a container that the dealer fills from their bulk barrel. The dealer is not set up to pack and ship individual containers (1 liter bottles) of the stuff. I doubt that Moss or Mini Mania are set up to package and ship individual bottles of the CVT fluid - I just checked the minimania.com site, and could not find CVT transmission fluid. The basic issue is that a trip to a dealer is in the future for biz. biz can roll the dice and use non-spec. CVT fluid as an alternative, but then if the CVT fails, biz is going to have no recourse for using wrong fluid. Oh, and a CVT replacement is something like a $4,000 parts cost item.

 

I might be able to ship you some tranny fluid. Let me call them tomorrow to make sure they have it.
