Reasonable amount of time for servicing an '06 MINI that stalled at traffic light?

It is going into the 8th day since my '06 MC (1550 miles) was towed into service to determine why it stalled - cut off - at a stop light and I was able to start up again after putting it in park. I am still waiting for a diagnosis and whether or not the problem can be resolved.

Do you know what the problem is? Is the dealer keeping you informed?

Stay on your SA's list of people to update regularly; work gets done right and quicker that way. It could be anything froma faulty component that needs to be ordered, shipped and installed which if it was drive critical could mean a week, and they won't give you a car back if they'll be held liable if it were to stall and cause an accident. If I were you just make sure they keep you updated, they'll know you care and you shouldn't be gettign any BS or runaround.

I hope you got a loaner out of them so they at least have some incentive to get going on your car. I would be calling them hourly to find out when my car would be available for pickup. Good luck.

I had to be a pest to get a loaner when my car (w/8000 miles) left me stranded. On top of that, the incident happened on a Friday night. While the sales department was open on Saturday, they couldn't/wouldn't help me get a rental or anything, so I was out of luck until the service department opened on Monday

In the end, they fixed the part quickly (minor issue...fixed by Tuesday) and reimbursed me for my rental. All is well.
