MINI & the country dirt roads

Anyone out there have any experience with their MINI and muddy country dirt roads? I am going to be starting a new job soon in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma and probably be driving some hard roads. I am debating if its even worth taking the MINI along for the ride or just getting a truck for the job! Any 2 cents worth out there

Luckily your car isn't dark. I live in the country, luckily the road is paved but my driveway is about 1/4th a mile long and all gravel....NOT fun. After I drive the car I have to drive at like 2mph to the road or it gets filthy :(

I'm also kind of worried about this - the MINI hasn't arrived yet, but I live on a really musty, gravelly road. I'm worried most about rock chips!

I drove my MCS over several miles of gravel road in rural Indiana due to some poor map reading. I was all alone on the road and couldn't resist driving faster than I should have. It was almost like driving on ice and snow, but a lot noisier. The boot got so dirty I almost couldn't see out the back. It was fun while it lasted, but a mess to clean up.

Keep the MINI, get it dirty, avoid mud puddles of a foot or more in depth...and wash it like ya love it.

Good luck with the move.

Besides for possible holes that will swallow a MINI whole, the backend just sucks up dust all up the back end. Have fun with that, I've gotten mine so dirty I couldn't see out the back window.

I am with ya there! MY PW/B has clear bra on the entire front end mirrors lights etc so we shall see what happens. Thanks for the imput though. I am sure that I will definately have some dirt to wash off on a regular basis.

Rally it!

If you want a primadona trailer queen show car, get something else!
WARNING: drifting fast in the dirt throws dirt and mars the plastic wheel arches. Also have to watch for ridges and rocks that scrap the airdam, but that will wear away eventually. Low profile tires (also on previous car) are vulnerable to damage on the sidewalls.
Just keep the shiney side up!
