Does anyone still sell the silicone intercooler boots?

I'm upgrading intercoolers, just wondering if anyone sells those silicone boots in different colors still? I thought Alta had them for a while, could be mistaken.

I believe ALTA still does.
That's where I purchased mine.

Are you talking about replacing the current (OEM) metal pieces that attach to both sides of the intercooler? I was just thinking about that last night too!

I'm pretty sure he is just talking about the rubber seals that those pieces clamp into place.

I'm not sure why one would want to replace the clamps? I guess you could take them off and have them powdercoated for looks though. .. .

Wouldn't Silicone ones flow better and be more heat resistant than metal ones?

You are not going to want to replace the Al SC-IC or IC-Intake horns...

they are complicated parts to shape. If you want to improve them, there are options for porting/polishing them, and if you're worried about heat, you can get the coated.

The boots that connect the horns to the IC are what the others are talking about.

Call Alta. I ordered red ones last Friday for my new DFIC IC that I am picking up today. My red boots should arrive today via UPS .

Do the silicone ones offer any advantage, other than bling, over the OE ones?

OE ones are rubber, can dry out and crack over time.

Close to where?

Also, the one after the SC you want to shed heat, and the one after the IC... Sometimes you want it to shed, sometimes you want it to insulate. Makes the coating choice tough.

What are you after?

I didn't use the silicon boots. I have heard mixed remarks if they're better then the rubber. So I have stuck with the rubber.

I saw the silicone boots recently and thought they looked a little too home-made. They sort of looked crushed and wrinkled and the frayed edges just didn't look right to me.

That doesn't mean they are not better, just that I didn't like the look.

I'll vote for the GT Tuning parts as well.
They come in the right shape. Oval, not round.

Here you go

Roland is a good guy to deal with so email him if you have any questions.

PS: I do agree they are a bugger to put on but are well worth it.
