About 10 yrs ago I had a porsche with one small crease in the left quarter panel...Found a guy called the Dent Doctor. No paint can be missing for this to work with out touchup etc.

he has these slim metal tools that he inserts between the inner walls and the outerwalls of the body (sometimes he has to loosen a panel). Anyway he "massaged" out that crease right in front of me! Perfection and you would never have known it was there!

Just checked with him (got a dime sized ding on the way back from Sac.....still $75! for that size! Do not think I will bother though...still good to know he is around!

He is listed in the Pbook under Dent Doctor in Reno and is still the same person too!

I think this (Dent Doctor) is a "franchise". You may very well have someone in your area. It's really great. The guy that I use comes out to my office and does the work right there in the parking lot. No dropping off the car at the body shop and waiting weeks, wondering what's going on, if anything. No overspray dust to clean out of the car. No miss match of colors. It only takes about a half hour and $75 and off he goes. The guys is like a musician, he works the dent out with no cracks in the paint. You will never know there was a dent.

 

I am generally not one to buy extended warranties and things like that. But when I bought my MINI, my dealer offered and I purchased door ding protection. It was like $250 and any time I have one of these dings, I bring it to my dealer and they have the dent removed. I have never had a car that didn't get these kinds of dings with regularity. It seemed worth it to me.

I have not had to use it yet.

 

There is a dent Pro Franchise...this guy studied under some master german guy for a few years and he is still the only one allowed to do the actual work! I remember him well when all he had was a mobile truck "come to you" service! Dent Pro is in Sparks BTW but I have not heard anything about their work! Still a great idea (and I watched this guy when he did my old porsche...like a surgeon!)

Looking forward to meeting you Mini Poopers next month ...finally...at the Pet run! Re-injured the leg a little yesterday but I can drive again anyway (it is still pretty delicate)!

BTW: that ding insurance policy is a GREAT idea...only I bought mine used! All cars get them, but the Cooper is pretty special...I can live with the 2 that I have (dime sized and no paint missing) after all it is a 2004!

Here in Lincoln we have a company called Bullseye Dents,one man shop, works out of his car.Cannot believe how well he removed several dents from the roof of my Mini.Q

 

I found I guy as I googled it thanks I also saw schools on this and i bet I could make a killing In the city
It's all cash right?

 

The guy here used to also sell his services to the car dealerships! What a killer business!

Heck, from what I remember...NY was Ding City!
